Justice & Judgment 5

Justice is up close and in the details, while Judgment happens from afar… both in holiness as well as when we judge carnally. A fountain of wisdom can be found in just this one point alone.

Below are notes that pertain to the very end of the audio lesson and will then be repeated (and probably further embellished) in next week’s lesson.

  • There must be a law broken, before judgment can be passed and justice served. There must first be a law for judgment to be demanded.
  • Romans 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed (charged to the account of) when there is no law.
  • After creation there was only one commandment up until Noah… (God didn’t destroy the earth in judgment, he flat out repented that He made man and chose to destroy them and the earth. Genesis 6:11-13) Vs 8… but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah means “comfort” and “peace” Genesis 5:29
  • God delivered His commandments little by little, leaving man with space enough to choose to obey them.
  • Commandment 1 – Genesis 2:16-1 7 (Adam and Eve were commanded to not eat of the tree of good and evil… thou shalt have no other gods before me)
          1. Commandment 2 – Genesis 6:22, 7:9, 16 (Noah was commanded to build an ark and enter in… Thou shalt not make any graven image… trust only in God for salvation. Noah didn’t rely on Nimrod, he built the ark as commanded)

  • Commandment 3 – Genesis 17:10, 21:4 (Abraham was commanded to circumcise himself along with every man child among them… He commanded this as he told Abraham he would give him a son. Abraham laughed in Genesis 17:17 and eventually so did Sarah in Genesis 18:12. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain… Abraham did not believe and in so doing, that was taking God’s name in vain. His circumcision depicted a circumcision of the heart in the NT, but his belief that followed was indicative of breaking the 3rd commandment.) Abraham was 99 when he was circumcised… ouch! He was 100 when Isaac was born and probably it happened after Abimilech tried to steal Sarah from Abraham
